Announcement: Cancellation IAF 2012

Dear all,

Thanks for all your support for Indigenous Movement! Unfortunately, the Indigenous Awareness Festival 2012, scheduled for 1st & 2nd June, has been cancelled as we weren't able to obtain the necessary finances to make this tremendous production go through. We want to make sure to delivery a truly spectacular event in which all aspects of Indigenous traditions & sustainability can be highlighted without having to make compromises nor eliminate parts of the program for the sake of budget. Nevertheless, we will continue to look for (financial) support and we will hopefully make this happen in the near future!

On the bright side: The Indigenous Political Prisoners Demonstration will go through!
Date: Saturday 2nd June
Time: 14.00 12.00 - 15.00
Location: Museumplein, Amsterdam

The International Committee Against Disappearances (http://www.icad-int.org/) and Indigenous Movement would like to invite you all to participate!

Once again, thanks for your support and participation and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday 2nd June!

Protect & Defend,
Indigenous Movement

Osvaldo Hernandez: Pre-columbian music at IAF2012!

Osvaldo Hernandez, a renowned percussionist and multi-instrumentalist, will perform pre-columbian music with his three-man band at the Indigenous Awareness Festival on Friday 1st June. Pre-Columbian music, which dates back to indigenous civilizations before European influence, consists of primitive instruments which reflect the sound of nature

Check out the video below and be taken by the sounds that our ancestors used to convey with their instruments:
